Lutricia Steele was last seen leaving her Schenectady home, located in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood on Webster Street, in the early afternoon of May 1, 2008, according to Schenectady Police.

The then 27-year-old never returned home and has not been heard from since.

Investigators determined that Steele later cashed a check in the city’s downtown area, near the intersection of Erie Boulevard and State Street.

A receipt shows that she may have visited retailer AJ Wright at their Hannaford Plaza store, located on Altamont Avenue, at around 6 p.m.

“Over the past fifteen years, the Schenectady Police Department has investigated over 190 leads and tips,” the agency announced on Monday, May 1. “And, we have been in contact with her family, who still awaits information about her disappearance.”

At the time of her disappearance, Steele was described as 5-feet-6-inches tall and 125 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

She has several tattoos, including an image of a tiger on her left ankle, the name “Shawn” with a ribbon on her left arm, and the name “Kasin” on her left chest.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Schenectady Police Department at 518-788-6566.
